In the future, hydrogen can play a prominent role in the energy market.
It is particularly important for achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement, as in the Agreement, the Member States of the European Union committed themselves to achieving climate neutrality by 2050.
The European Hydrogen Week, taking place in Brussels from 20 to 24 November 2023, was a great opportunity for networking and learning about the latest technologies and was attended by players in the hydrogen sector, such as stakeholders and entrepreneurs, and visitors could test the latest hydrogen-powered trucks, buses, and cars. At the event, the Japanese multinational company Honda unveiled a prototype of its latest fuel cell system, which in this case converts the chemical energy stored in hydrogen into electrical energy, while heat is also generated. Despite its small size, it is extremely powerful, versatile and can also be used in cold weather. The sale of the newly developed system could be launched within a couple of years. This will help the company itself and the European Union to meet its target of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
